Beautiful. I wonder how a few warm tones would look - in its mouth or eye - might be really amazing in the ice-cold environment. Then again, it might not work at all....

- Fantasic, Judy! How long did it take? (if I am allowed to ask?) and I fully understand what you mean by "tired of it" - I think I get like that with most of my paintings, - Photoshop being such an infinite medium, you in theory, could be altering your works constantly forever, I guess.
Did you use the dodge tool for the glow in the mouth?

I am only new to this forum, and I have to say I love it!!
being able to view so many great artists' work is nothing short
of absolutely inspiring.

Redfox: I'm not sure... I worked on it for a few hours every day one week, and then I stopped working on it for a week. The hours really got spread out over a long period of time. On top of that, I did an initial sketch for it a loooong time ago and just recently decided hey, this kicks ass, I should finish it.

I just painted the mouth with the paintbrush tool. I can understand how you would think I used the dodge tool, though. A year ago, I would have thought the same thing.

Awesome! this dragon scene is fantastic.Colour is great and you have captured the atmosphere!Already a wallpaper on my desktop:):)+7

I like it very much as well. Is it just me or does the clouds behind the dragon have thesame shape as the dragon itself? I think I recognize the (for us) left wing with the hook in the clouds behind it... Could also be a coincidence, ofcourse ;)

Very nice work, +7

excellent lighning, polished technike and good movement

Avatar Jull

 06/06/03 @404

Cute :) excellent lighting on the membrane and the background indeed. It would be nice to add some specular/bump details and arrange some 'back' lighting in the 'arms' imho. I guess you would do it if you didn't get tired of it :p
at last I think it would be more interesting with closed mouth but this is a stupid subjective opinion

I like what people have already commented on.. as for more stupid subjectivity, I think the arms and legs could use a bit more work when your interest has returned.

 06/06/03 @787

Gecky dear! That looks amazing. It seems your rendering abillities have sure skyrocketed since last i saw one of your pictures.
The clouds, head, and transparant wing are especially drool-worthy.

Avatar Eilidh

 06/08/03 @478

Very nice. The landscape itself has got be my favourite part, I was staring at it for several minutes, and the dragon came up very well too, great dynamics. I find the clouds a little too rough (also in comparison with the rest of the picture), and that makes the image rather heavier at the top -- there's a slight sense of imbalance. Other than that, though, great stuff. Keep it up, gecko-person. ;)

Beautiful lighting and clouds :)

SteveNewport

 06/10/03 @223

sept the clouds! I think you got tired of it on the clouds and I think it forfitted a lot of the quality of the image as a whole. Maybe spend some more time on that, it doesn't match and have as cool of look as the rest. The Dragon rocks my world

Avatar Enayla

 06/12/03 @639

I love this one :) Perhaps all that much more so because I got to see the progress of it - it's very fascinating how it came out.

So, yeah, hm... lovely, lovely work :)

this is really good. can I use this for an art assignment? I'm new here and I don't know how to find the Artist's details to contact them about this. I don't actually want to publicly display this.

You can use it for anything non-commercial as long as you give credit or at least display it in context that doesn't make it look like you were the creator.
