Good detail. Have you used custom brushes for the flora shapes, or painted each leaf individually with a straight brush? The lighting's good but the image overall seems fairly monotonous.

Raphael, it's a combination, neither of which really fits into what I think you're thinking. The majority of flora is painted with a variety of special square shaped brushes as I've discovered circular ones do not create good leaves. There are a few textures overlaying some parts of the image that you can see a bit in the full version I provided.

It's a lot of individual brush strokes, though. Basically everything the pros will tell you NOT to do because it's an enormous consumption of time with very little reward in comparison to much faster techniques but I have fun doing it anyway.

Wow, this is very detailed. Good work with the light and the textures. I think the bird is too small, it took me a long time to find it. It would be nice to have something a little bigger to set the scale of the dragon.

Oh, WOW. That's gorgeous. Such soft lighting, such incredible foliage, and what atmosphere. This is a place I would like to be right now.

Beautiful concept, I think it would be much better with more contrast and harder brush strokes. I really hope to see you take this concept farther.

hehe... Very nice! Lovely light, colours, mood and perspective. Actually, one of the most interesting and sensitive images I've seen in a long time. Saved to harddrive! (I'm glad you stayed away from the butterflies and little fairies...)

Cloister, little butterflies ALMOST made it into the image on many occasions... in hindsight I'm glad I stayed away from them too. And randomly glowing things. Hehehe.
